Year 3 Egyptian Talk

On Thursday 9th May, Year 3 were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to have a talk from Dr Jennifer Ferreira, a parent who studied Egyptology at university.

The children generated questions and Dr Ferreira then answered these questions, using her expert knowledge. The children were fascinated and learnt so much! They also showed their own superb knowledge, sharing what they had learnt about the Ancient Egyptians over the term.

The children were able to handle and explore a range of replica artefacts, as well as ask and answer questions. To finish, every child was given some papyrus to write on using Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics.

This was a wonderful way to end a fantastic term of learning. A huge thank you to Dr Ferreira for her time and effort on this. You were amazing!

Year 3 Animal Adoption

As part of our English this term, the children wrote leaflets persuading people to adopt a tiger or a polar bear.  As part of this, the children and parents kindly raised enough money so that each class could adopt an animal..  We can proudly say that 3AT have adopted a tiger and 3GW have adopted a polar bear.  We are so proud of their enthusiasm and commitment with helping these endangered animals.  Well done Year 3!
